Kion Jafari is an Iranian photographer whose work is a meditation on the meaning of energies. The itinerant artists’ extensive travels have informed his aesthetic and artistic worldview. As a photographer he has worked alongside the SOS Children’s Villages where he deepened his understanding of how cultural attitudes can leave an imprint on shaping our artistic experiences.
For Kion, art is a very human experience. Creating is not just how something looks but how it makes you feel. He is consumed by the idea of what he regards as the ‘magnetic strength’ of negative energy in its relation to positive energy. Just as distraction reduces the perception of pain in the real world, Kion is interested in how the emotional landscape of a piece is altered by the juxtaposition of light and dark elements.
His works have been represented in Marbella, Spain and Dubai, where he is based.
