Kate Cuthbert is a collage artist born and raised in South Australia. Working under the name ‘Satin&Tat’, Kate lovingly creates unique, and sometimes quirky, art pieces by hand cutting, arranging and glueing modern and vintage imagery.
“I work with anything and everything, primarily paper. Nothing collagable is safe! I love vintage and modern magazines... I cut with both scissors and an Exacto knife, depending on the image and paper quality.” — Kate
Her art making process is organic and free flowing. She lets her works happen naturally and makes a note not to overwork them. All her collages are hand cut, with absolutely no subjection to digital manipulation. Kate has exhibited numerous times around Adelaide. Her work has also been exhibited in San Francisco and she was invited to take part of the inaugural exhibition of The Scandinavian Collage Museum in Norway. Most recently a piece was shown at the 2018 Sziget Festival in Budapest.
