Artist Collections: GINNI SEEHAGEL

Ginni Seehagel is a natural pigment artist studying and working on the ancestral prairie lands of the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Blackfoot and Métis peoples on Treaty 6 territory in western Canada.
Ginni is known for her abstract land portraits on vacant backgrounds using simplified natural elements. Nature’s shapes, colours, and textures are the true heroes in her art practice. Drawing both inspiration and raw pigments directly from the landscape, the relationships Ginni builds with the materials she works with and the places they’re from are deeply important. A sense of play, connection to place, and techniques of both art and science are present in her work.
